Are You Suffering From Neck Sag? Here’s What I Did About Mine

I have an unsupported and mostly vain complex about my neck. I am 33 years-old and about a year ago I noticed I was losing definition in my jawline, the skin on my actual neck had lost elasticity and I had developed a pocket of fat under my chin. Cute.
I see Dr. Jeremy, founder of Ageless Clinics, for Botox and he mentioned a new treatment he was offering—Beauty Boost. It entails micro injections (with numbing cream so no pain at all) of Hyaluronic Acid to the skin using the Beauty Boost gun, which is like a bigger version of a DermaStamp pen.
What is Beauty Boost?
You can have the rejuvenating treatment on your face, under your eyes to combat hollowing and dark circles (very popular), or on your neck. Dr. J recommends three treatments over a three-month period, and then once a year after that for maintenance. Each treatment costs $750.
Is it worth the price?
At this point you might be wondering—is it worth it? The only answer I can give you is, if your saggy neck bothers you as much as mine bothered me, there’s no limit on what you’d pay to make it look better. Even if you must save up, quit shopping, drink less coffee and eat out less—you’ll do it.
Custom Beauty Boost + PRP
Now, I opted to add another level of rejuvenation to my Beauty Boost treatment. Dr. J also performs a custom DermaStamp + Platelet Rich Plasma treatment, by which your own blood’s platelets—stay with me—are mixed with the Hyaluronic Acid to create a super solution of sorts. The team at Ageless Clinics explain why they use platelets:
“The platelets are naturally surrounded by protein molecules called growth factors, and these growth factors are responsible for repair and regeneration of damaged tissue. They stimulate special cells called stem cells that exist within the deeper layers of the skin to change into regenerating cells called fibroblasts. These are important because they produce collagen and elastin, the building blocks of plump, healthy skin.”
With this super-charged version, the Beauty Boost gun is still used to administer the solution, only it is a more advanced version of the treatment and heals faster. It costs $850 per treatment and he also recommends three treatments over a three-month period.
Is there any downtime?
Now if you’ve had DermaStamp or micro-needling before, you’ll know you leave looking extremely sunburnt. Beauty Boost is a little more intense. I’ve included a photo of my neck immediately after the treatment. As you can see it isn’t pretty, but it also isn’t that bad. I wore a scarf on the bus and a turtleneck for three days after. Totally fine.
For the custom PRP treatment, you’ll be given your leftover platelets (read: liquid gold) in two little containers. They’ll be on ice to keep them cool, so you should go straight home. You then apply it to your treatment area hourly that day and the following. It’s amazing how quickly it heals!
Show me the results!
After my third treatment, I am super happy with the result. I have less visible wrinkles in my neck, and the skin is way more hydrated and suppler. I’m going to try it on my face and return annually for my neck as well.
