This Pumpkin Spice Smoothie Will Make You Burn Fat Like Crazy

Amanda Montell

A delicious dessert that tricks your body into burning fat? It sounds like witchcraft. But thanks to model and health guru Crosby Tailor of Tailored Life, creator of the too-good-to-be-true sweets brand "Eat Dessert Burn Fat," this concept is actually possible.

Tailor founded his line of fat-torching sweets (which includes everything from cookies to cakes to this decadent pumpkin spice smoothie) out of a desire to indulge without overwhelming the body with sugar. Almost all of his treats are ketogenic, which means they are sugar-free and high in healthy fats to encourage the body to drop fat like crazy. (Read more about the ketogenic diet here.)

Tailor stopped by Byrdie HQ, where he taught us how to make a Byrdie-exclusive pumpkin spice smoothie. Take it from me—this thing did not taste healthy. It tasted like sugary, cinammony goodness. But impressively, the recipe contains 100% good-for-you ingredients, like tocotrienols (which offer a skin-loving boost of Vitamin E), MCT oil (for fat burning and brain function), and lakanto (a sugar alternative derived from monk fruit extract that does not cause an insulin spike).

Better yet, the smoothie contains a combination of Chinese herbs that provide myriad benefits for the mind, body, and skin. And, aside from the pearl powder (which you can leave out), the smoothie is totally vegan!
