Olivia Palermo’s Next-Level Braid Just Gave Us Serious Hair Goals
The power of Olivia Palermo's style is such that she often inadvertently pulls focus from whatever event she's attending. Such was the case front row at Delpozo where we clocked the show's pared-back beauty look and minimal nail art, then proceeded to check out the back of Palermo's head.
Crafted by editorial hairstylist Lacy Redway (who you may remember as the genius behind this similarly amazing hairstyle), Palermo's 'do is potentially the greatest celebration of fishtail braids ever seen. Big call, but, look at it.
An intricate-yet-undone assortment of braids, Palermo's hairstyle is fairly advanced styling-wise. If you do want to attempt it at home sans the services of a pro Glam Team, we suggest setting some time aside to get it right. This is definitely not one to try when you're pressed for time.
To DIY, prep hair with texturising dry shampoo ($16) for grip, then divide hair into two sections horizontally (from ear to ear). Using the top section only, create three fishtail braids, one from the top of the centre of your forehead and two on either side. Bring the three braids together in the centre of the back of your head, then pick up hair from the bottom section and add it into the three existing braids to fatten them up. Redway has done a stellar job of intertwining the hair to create a twisted effect at the bottom, but even without it we think this style would still make a statement.
