As much as I would love to be able to sit down for a few minutes, close my eyes, and clear my head without squirming or feeling like I would rather be doing anything else, I am sadly not one of those people. Coming to terms with this truth alone was a long process for this otherwise yoga-loving, incense-burning wellness editor—but boy, did it set me free. I quickly realised that I found my own mental catharsis elsewhere: in hiking, listening to music, and writing, to name a few. 

The point is that there are countless ways to practice mindfulness depending oo the circumstances or your own personal preferences. With that in mind, I compiled a not-at-all exhaustive list of activities that can help you feel more grounded and focused—some are backed by science, others are suggestions thrown in by me and my fellow editors. Bookmark it for the next time you're feeling stressed, frazzled, scattered—or all of the above.
