People Are Asking Their Plastic Surgeons for Meghan Markle's Nose
It's no secret that the world is intrigued by the British monarchy. It doesn't matter if you hail from the UK or not because most everyone keeps an eye on and an interest in the royal family. We know we do. We want to know which beauty products real-life queens, duchesses, and princesses use to keep their perfectly poised style intact. Whether it's Kate Middleton's go-to face oil for glowy skin or the $12 conditioner she uses, we're ready and willing to try out royally endorsed products for ourselves.
But the world's collective interest doesn't end there. According to Allure, people aren't just mimicking their beauty routines, but their actual faces too. One NYC-based cosmetic surgeon, Stephen T. Greenberg, told the publication that the most popular request he's received over the past six months has been inspired by the newest soon-to-be member of the royal family: Meghan Markle. "Patients started coming to me about six months ago requesting Meghan Markle's nose," Greenberg told Allure. "She has a pretty great nose, but I think the beauty of it is that it isn't perfect. From the profile you can see that she has a very slight dorsal hump of the nose that is almost undetectable when looking at her straight on."
Her jawline and cheekbones are also highly requested at Greenberg's office. "Today she is probably one of the top, if not the number one, request that I am getting from patients hoping to look like their favorite celebrities," he said. Before the royal engagement, the most requested celeb features belonged to Kim Kardashian West and Kylie Jenner, but Markle's rising popularity and connection to the royals has eclipsed that. "There seems to be a direct relationship, as she has grown more serious in her relationship and public outings with Prince Harry to the requests growing as well," he said. It's not the first time members of the British monarchy has influenced beauty trends. "My practice saw a huge bump after the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate in 2011."
It's further proof that the royal family is as influential as ever, even in the realm of beauty trends. We can only expect to see more hair, makeup, and fashion trends take their heed from Markle in the months to come. For now, though, we'll stick to a simple nose contour using our Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting Contour ($23).
