We Tried MAC’s New Fragrance Collection—Read Our Honest Reviews
While I can't say I've ever looked at my trusty tube of Lady Danger ($36) and wondered what it would smell like in perfume-form, I'm mighty glad someone at MAC did. Because as of next February, you'll be able to shop six new 'fumes, each inspired by a best-selling lip shade (including the aforementioned Lady Danger.) Called Shadescents, the range was created with different kinds of lipstick wearers in mind. The idea being that a woman who loves a deep, dramatic shade like My Heroine ($36), might also enjoy an equally bold scent. So how do the brand's cult lip shades translate? Lady Danger is described as a "woody floriental" with notes of wild cherry, Ruby Woo is all "sultry red leather", and My Heroine is "woody leather" with saffron and incense smoke. Candy Yum-Yum is a "fruity floral gourmand", and Creme d'Nude and Velvet Teddy evoke notes of amber musk and wild honey respectively. Intrigued?

MAC obsessives know this isn't the brand's first-ever foray into fragrance (Turnquatic and Air Of Style are both ranged in the US), however Shadescents is the first collection to make it to Australian shores. Since news of the launch first dropped late last month, brand devotees have (understandably) been losing it, so we got our mitts on three of the fragrances to see what all the fuss is about.
