Your Favourite Bath Bomb Brand Is Making 40 Shades of Foundation Now
Major news is circulating about Lush—and, surprise, it isn't a new bath bomb. Lush announced that its expanding its line to include foundation. Get this: They're solid-shaped, sustainable, and come in 40 (!!!) shades. Since it's known for its crazy-amazing bath bombs, a cult-favourite product that makes your bath look, smell, and feel like a colourful rainbow in heaven, the brand's venture into foundation feels so new and different. And of course, it made a point to join the inclusivity train with 40 shades for all skin tones in warm, cool, and neutral undertones.
The foundations are called Slap Sticks, and staying true to the brand's all-natural approach, they're vegan, made of 45 percent coconut oil, and offer medium, buildable coverage. If you're into more no-makeup, dewy looks, this hydrating formula is for you. Each stick is blended with softening nut oils like jojoba and argan oil so that it'll seamlessly blend right onto your skin.
What's so cool about these foundations is their shape. The Cut and Elle UK point out that they look like mini Babybel cheeses—we agree. The bottom is made of a wax that's peelable to make gripping the foundation easier. It even comes in a recyclable cardboard box that you can reuse as a container, so it's sustainable and convenient. And get this—10 percent of the proceeds of coconut oil between us and our supplier in Indonesia go directly to support a not-forprofit organisation that funds literacy classes on the island of Nias.
"We need to look beyond fancy packaging," Rowena Bird, Lush co-founder and product inventor told Refinery29. "For Lush, it's all about the product. How much do you care about what you're putting onto your lips and on your skin? Come in, have a look, and save the planet."
The thing is, though, these are limited-edition and will be available online this Friday, June 29, at Lush.com for only one month. So be sure to keep your eyes locked on the screen on June 29 to try one of these exclusive foundations.
Considering Lush's successful history, we're sure these will be a hit. So fingers crossed they'll bring them back for more than a month soon.
