These Limited-Edition Fragrances Are Guaranteed to Win at Christmas
When it comes to beauty, the rules of gift-giving are a great guideline to stick by if you're shopping for someone who is particularly fussy. Sometimes, though, if you're going for maximum impact, it can pay off to take a gamble. Top of my list when I'm going for present gold are limited-edition fragrances. My best tip is to suss out two or three of your giftees go-to scents and take that info to Fragrantica or a department store to research similarities. You'll most likely see a link between them; they could be all woody, feature lots of white florals or just smell like delicious candy. Once you know what you're looking for, make a beeline for either a new release or a special holiday edition of an old favourite. Below, shop our favourite picks for gifting this Christmas.

Amouage Opus I ($418)
If you're aiming for serious brownie points these holidays, anything from Amouage will do. The Opus Library Collection though, is definitely top notch—and yes, it comes with a price-tag to suit. This scent is a unisex blend of warm florals like ylang-ylang and jasmine, with spicy plum, cardamon and frankincense thrown in for good measure.
L’Artisan Parfumeur Rose Privee ($259)
True rose fans tend to be obsessive about their flower of choice, with anything that throws powdery or super sweet notes a turn-off. This juice was crafted as a contemporary ode to the iconic May rose of Provence, with mandarin, beeswax and blackcurrant buds ensuring it's anything but basic.
Annick Goutal Eau D'Hadrien ($160)
Can't afford to gift a ticket to the Med? This perfume is probably the next best thing. A refreshing citrus blend with Sicilian lemon and grapefruit, it's not overly tart thanks to spicy ylang-ylang. A good one for anyone who likes to smell "clean" and steers clear of sweet florals and gourmands.
Byredo Rose Of No Man's Land ($160)
This beauty was crafted as a homage to the nurses who worked on the front line during WW1. (5% of sales will go to Doctors Without Borders so it's a it of a charity buy, too.) Another better-than-your-average rose perfume; notes of papyrus and pink pepper give it a masculine edge.
