Look of the Day: Kate Bosworth's Grecian Side Braid

Lindsey Metrus

Here at Byrdie, we're total suckers for a good braid. Whether they're low side braids, braided buns, crown braids, etc., we tend to get a little weak in the knees for them (maybe it's a beauty editor thing). However, we have a feeling you'll feel the same way about the Grecian side braid Kate Bosworth wore Tuesday night at the SAG Foundation’s Conversation on “The Art of More”. I mean, just look at it!

Hair stylist Bridget Brager says of the look, "We wanted to do a 'cool girl' braid. Something a bit different, but not too flashy."

To achieve this simply beautiful style, Brager says she started by giving Bosworth a "bedhead look." To do this, she spritzed on some Sachajuan Ocean Mist ($23), gave the strands a rough blow-dry, and curled the hair with the T3 Whirl Trio Interchangeable Styling Wand ($270). For the braid, Brager created a deep side part  and Dutch-braided her hair down one side of her head, right along the hairline. She continued the braid behind the ear and wrapped it around the nape of the neck, securing the braid with a bobby pin. Finally, Brager finished off the look by applying some Kevin Murphy Powder Puff Volumising Powder ($30) to the braid and pulled it apart for a "lived-in feel." We're officially obsessed.
