Tax time is the worst for lots of reasons. Mainly because highlighting bank statements and trying to locate your super details is nobody's idea of a good time. That said, there is one upside for most—a pretty sweet refund. Personally, I like to think of the sum that appears in my bank account as free money. Of course, it's not, but I do treat it as a gift from the gods. Essentially, this means instead of devoting it to important things (paying off credit cards, home repairs, etc.), I tag it as play money. It isn't the most sensible way to allocate a sizeable chunk of change, but hey—I'm not here to give you financial advice.
