The Only Liner Trend That Matters Right Now, According to French Girls
At this point we've come to accept that our collective fascination with all things "French girl" will never die. From effortless Parisian hair to an insouciant approach to makeup—not to mention their time-saving devotion to micellar water—there is much to gain from looking to French women for beauty tips.
According to The Huffington Post Australia, the next French girl beauty trend is here, but unlike a subtle slick of feline liner or pressed-on red lip, it's uncharacteristically "done". Introducing: under eyebrows. An umbrella term used to describe any kind of liner placement under the brow (from directly underneath to just above the lid) in any medium, the look is playful and individual.
See for yourself.
Allure credits Pinterest with taking this runway trend—as worn by Gigi Hadid on the Giambattista Valli Spring '16 runway—to the masses. (Apparently the two images above are amongst the most pinned by French women.)
This budding trend also popped up closer to home recently, with models at Tome's Resort '17 show repping some of the most amazing brow bling we've ever clapped eyes on. (Go here for an in-depth look.)
Nars Eye Paint in Ubangi ($36)
To get amongst it IRL we recommend opting for a matte taupe or bronze cream for day and applying it as a floating liner just above the crease of the eye. (MAC's Cream Colour Base, $36, in Tint is a winner.) You could also opt for a statement shade—French girls seem particularly enamored with blue, if their pinning habits are anything to go by. Try Nars' Eye Paint, $36, in Ubangi for an after-dark take on the trend.
