There’s no way around it: It’s flu season, that dreaded time of year where the weather is unpredictable and germs are flying. People get sick no matter how many times they wash their hands and sterilise their keyboards, smartphones, and cars. This beauty editor is no exception. Full disclosure, I’m an awful sick person. I regularly suffer from FOMO as it is, so the concept of spending the day in bed would be incomprehensible to me, had it not just happened the week before last. At the approval of my doctor (who may or not be on speed dial), I took a wholefoods approach to cutting back on my downtime. It worked so well that following an energetic phone call to my Midwestern mother—who met my enthusiasm with (I’m guessing) an eye roll—I decided to share them with you, because nobody likes being sick.
