Kylie, Taylor, and More Share the One Makeup Product They Can’t Live Without
While reading the latest celebrity beauty interview or even during our own sit-downs with Hollywood’s finest, we almost always find ourselves hanging onto the starlet’s every word until they reveal that one token piece of information we yearn for: their favourite products. Something about knowing exactly which products a celebrity uses makes us feel like we can maybe—just maybe—achieve the glamourous looks of our favourite icons. Not only that—harnessing this information also gives way to a little humble-bragging: “Oh, this lipstick? Yeah, it’s J.Lo’s favourite.” So if you’re like us and love knowing which products celebrities have given their stamp of approval to, we’ve compiled a list of some of some of our favourite beauties in Tinseltown and their respective go-to items. Keep scrolling to find out what they are!
Let’s play a little word association. Ready for the first one? Chrissy Teigen. Was the first word that came to mind “glow”? Maybe it was “John” or “Twitter,” but if you’ve got tunnel vision like us and can’t get past her almost otherworldly complexion, you understand why “glow” is perfectly fitting. To get that signature luminescence, Chrissy tells us she turns to powder highlighters like Hourglass’s Ambient Strobe Lighting Powder ($60) as well as Charlotte Tilbury’s Filmstar Bronze & Glow Face Sculpt & Highlight Palette ($97): “Cream palettes are never really that great on me,” she contests.
Thank goodness for Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s Snapchat, otherwise known as How to Look Like a Supermodel 101. Her stories feature full beauty routine breakdowns that are incredibly detailed and digestible, even if it does come by way of a grainy Snapchat video. And since Rosie’s, well, rosy pout has become sort of her trademark, we were thrilled that she shared her go-to product to create the crimson look: Nars’ Velvet Matte Lip Pencil ($41) in Mysterious Red.
Strong brows and Olivia Culpo are like peanut butter and jelly. The former Miss Universe even calls herself “brow obsessed,” noting that she usually likes to do her own brow grooming. But when she’s itching for a bit of a professional tune-up, she’ll turn to brow guru Anastasia Soare. As a result, it’s no surprise that Culpo is completely in love with the Anastasia Beverly Hills' Brow Wiz ($38).
Sometimes, in the name of beauty, you’ve got to fake it till you make it. Turns out this is Zendaya’s philosophy, too, as the singer claims that although people swoon over her dewy complexion, that glow can actually be attributed to powders: “Once I do all this makeup and I put shimmery powder on, it’s like, Oh my gosh—your skin is so fresh and glowy! Nope. It’s actually just shimmer powder,” she admits.
We can’t say we were surprised to learn that badass actress and humanitarian Olivia Wilde has a low-maintenance beauty routine. The one product she can’t go without? Concealer. The brunette beauty pats some on—along with a bit of mascara and some brow product—and is “out the door.” (Such is her routine before saving the world, we presume).
While the actress may be a spokeswoman for the brand, Vergara attributes CoverGirl’s Outlast Stay Luminous Foundation ($21) to fixing many of the problems she and her makeup artist used to have; for starters, she no longer needs to reapply foundation throughout the day, and she also doesn’t need to use powder to nix shine. Though we’re certain the reality star’s favourite foundation has probably changed since revealing her product of choice to The New York Times last year, we know that the Kardashian clan is a huge fan of Charlotte Tilbury and her products, so there’s a good chance the youngest Kardashian-Jenner still keeps a bottle of Tilbury’s Light Wonder Foundation ($70) in her beauty stash.
