Watch: How to Get a Model-Worthy Glow With Makeup
Here's the thing with bronzer: You can wear it all year long. While having a healthy glow is more achievable and believable in the summertime, our complexion needs a big boost when the temperature dips into autumn, so a faux hint of bronze seems rather necessary.
So since we're a bit vitamin D–deficient in the colder months, we've put together a quick and easy tutorial to mimic a model-worthy glow. With just a few products and two brushes (that's right, no sponges or other tools required!), you can copy this simple makeup look, complete with a smokey bronze eye to complement your dewy skin. Ready to learn how to create the look? Let's get started!
1. Apply moisturiser with a dewy finish.
Drunk Elephant B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Gel ($75), delivers an intense dose of hydration to perk up your skin and give it that bouncy, supple look.
2. Apply a luminous foundation.
Applying a matte formula (even if placed over moisturiser) doesn't exactly bode well for a dewy complexion. Instead, try a reflective blend like Becca Luminous Foundation ($72), and apply it with your fingers.
3. Add a warm contour.
What would a warm complexion be without a bit of contour on the cheekbones? Tap a fluffy brush into the shade of your choice in the Cover FX Contour Kit ($70), and lightly dust it along the hollows of your cheeks, just underneath the hairline, and under the jaw.
4. Apply shimmery bronzer.
To accentuate your glow even more, pump a bit of Becca Liquid Shimmering Skin Perfector in Topez, ($52) onto the back of your hand to warm it up, press your brush in, and then go over the areas you just applied bronzer.
5. Apply highlighter on the high points of your face.
Now, pump Becca Liquid Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop ($68) onto the back of your hand, and tap it onto the top of your cheekbones, the bridge of your nose, and onto your Cupid's bow to instantly brighten your face.
6. Apply bronze eye shadow all over.
Now it's time for the eyes. Dip a fluffy eye shadow brush into the bronze hue in the Viseart Eyeshadow Palette ($98), and apply it on your eyelid and orbital bone, as well as on the lower lash line.
7. Finish with eye gloss.
To create a dewy look on your lids, tap a bit of Kevyn Aucoin Eye Gloss ($58) onto the centre of your lids using your fingers. Et voilà!
