The Best Beauty Looks From The 2018 Billboard Music Awards—Hands Down
Award shows and star-studded red carpets essentially feel like holidays for anyone with an appreciation for all things beauty. Not only do we get to witness countless red carpet interviews, performances, and of course, statue-gifting, but we also get to feast our eyes upon the onslaught of hair and makeup inspiration our favourite celebrities bestow us with. And, although May has already been ripe with plenty of show-stopping beauty fodder (from the Royal Wedding to Cannes to the Met Gala), we still have one last award show on our radar: The 2018 Billboard Music Awards (aka a beacon of hair and makeup inspiration courtesy of the most influential artists and icons in the music industry right now).
Sure, we're excited about the performances (obviously), but we're anticipating all of the amazing red carpet moments even more. Curious to see which looks we're loving? Keep scrolling for the most notable beauty moments from the 2018 Billboard Music Awards.
Singer and songwriter Dua Lipa served up some major '80s glamour on the red carpet with a bold cat eye, glossy nude lip, and sleek, carefully slicked-back strands.
With sky-high eyelashes, Kelly Clarkson complemented her 2018 Billboard Music Awards beauty look with a bright coral red lip boasting a cool matte finish.
Jenna Dewan is known for experimenting with many a hair and makeup looks. Here, she debuted a blunt, chin-length bob with a center part. She finished off the look with some black and gold eye makeup.
To give her golden-hued strands a bit more edge, Julia Michaels sported a deep side part and a smoked-out cat-eye with hints of sparkle.
Grace VanderWaal wore her short hair curled and accented her red carpet look with a romantic, peach-toned eye and a nude lip.
Christina Aguilera has recently debuted a fresh new look and she continued to show it off at this year's Billboard Music Awards. Aside from her chic, undone top knot, she went with a pristine nude lip and barely there eye look featuring long lashes and a hint of earth-toned shadow.
Demi Lovato kept her skin bronzed and glowy. A bold brow, crazy-long lashes, and slicked back strands completed her aesthetic.
Bebe Rexha channeled a similar approach to Christina Aguilera. Her platinum blonde tresses were pulled into an ultra-high topknot (with just a few strands left out to soften) plus a nude lip, and shimmery sunset-hued lids to finish.
Though she recently made the cut to much shorter length, (i.e. chin) singer Maren Morris wore extensions on the red carpet to show off long, undulating waves and soft braids on either side of her head.
Also channeling long mermaid-esque locks, Kesha wore the trend in a shade of platinum blonde with a wide-brimmed hat to accent. She kept her makeup minimal with a bare lip and deep smoky eye.
Celebrity makeup artist William Scott was behind Padma Lakshmi's sultry Billboard's look: shimmering metallic eyes and a coppery shining lip.
One part Audrey Hepburn, one part Brigitte Bardot, actress Alison Brie channeled a 60's beauty aesthetic with a petal pink pout, eye-grazing fringe, and a perfect flick of ink-black eyeliner.
Bronzed and radiant, Hailey Baldwin sported one of the most believable glows we've seen all season long.
We'll just say it. Ciara stole the 2018 Billboard Music Awards red carpet and her show-stopping curls were
It wouldn't be a red carpet if Jennifer Lopez didn't make her highly-anticipated appearance. To offset her burgundy gown (and those amazing leather boots!), she wore a similar hue of shadow above and beneath her lashline.
With her hair swept low and with a few strategic flyaways to frame her gorgeous bone structure, the Havana singer went for a classic, Old Hollywood glamour on this year's red carpet.
We couldn't help but stare at Normani's stunning hair and makeup—golden eyeshadow, an ever-so-slightly glossy lip, and half-up style with loads of curl summed up the singer's red carpet appearance.
Halsey consistently gives us whiplash with her unpredictable yet inspirational beauty aesthetic. Her flaming eyes (courtesy of hot pink and red shadows) felt balanced alongside a light pink lip and a semi-undone low ponytail cascading down her back.
Bangs, aside from Alison Brie's fresh set, were noticeably absent from the Billboard Music Awards. That being said, we love Mila Kunis' version of the cut which falls higher on her forehead and thus framing her shimmering metallic lids.
Taylor Swift's red carpet moment was all about that gorgeous berry lip—offset against her radiant complexion and a messy, slightly off-center updo. Her short side bangs framed her carefully lined lids for the finishing touch.
It seems like with each award show, actress Chrissy Metz experiments more and more with her red carpet makeup and hair. And we're loving it. For this year's Billboard Music Awards, she popped her amazing earring with a punch of matte red lipstick and smoldering eyes. (We caught a glimpse of shining flecks of gold on the inner corners.)
Although singer Justine Skye worked with a more neutral (albeit glittery) colour palette on her lips and eyes, we couldn't ignore gorgeous streaks of purple in her sleek half-up ponytail.
