Byrdie Readers Over 40 Sound Off on Their All-Time Favourite Eye Creams
Just the word “crows feet” can make anyone cringe. We spend our 20s and 30s meticulously trying to prevent them, slathering on sunscreen and patting in copious amounts eye cream. (At least ideally we do.) However, no matter how regimented your skincare routine was, under-eye ageing is sort of inevitable. Even though it is a natural part of ageing, it’s nice to know how to deal with it when the time comes.
As we mature and change, our skincare routines need to as well. So we reached out to a bunch of Byrdie readers over the age of 40 to hear about the best eye creams for crows feet, dark circles, and puffiness. The Byrdie readers we interviewed include everyday women (including some of our mums!), dermatologists like Debra Jaliman, MD, and plastic surgeons like Melissa Doft, MD, all of whom are between the ages of 40 and 60. Clinque Repairwear Laser Focus Wrinkle Correcting Eye Cream ($65)
"I love the texture. It doesn't feel greasy or heavy and soaks right in. I have very sensitive eyes, and I have had no problems." — Michelle
Sea Radiance Rapid Eye Lift ($130)
"This stuff replenishes collagen, repairs sun damage, and inactivates free radicals, reversing the major causes of premature aging. It truly provides both immediate and long-lasting improvement to the appearance of crow’s feet, fine lines, and wrinkles around the eye area. It is also gentle and non-irritating." — Debra
Obagi Elastiderm Eye Complete Complex Serum ($104)
"This is a serum that I really like. Sometimes I just put the serum on (the dispenser has a round metal ball) and so I just go over my eyes with that. I like the application because I never have to touch anything. Sometimes I use that first, let it dry, and then put the cream on top of it." — Joy
