All the Skincare Products an L.A. Fashion Blogger Uses on the Daily
West Coast fashion blogger Courtney Trop founded Always Judging as a way to “express [her] outfit adventures,” favourite music, places to visit, and beauty essentials, which are all documented through beautiful, artfully crafted imagery. Today, she’s sharing her long list of skincare favourites and must-follow tips for your best skin yet.
I go through phases with my skin where I use different products based on what my skin is feeling. I definitely don’t know everything there is to know about skincare, or even close for that matter, but I do know what works on my skin and which products I gravitate toward for different skin phases of the year. When I’m sharing my favourite products with you guys, I feel like it’s more effective if I share the type of skin I have, share all my favourite products, and let you guys look them up and decide if they mesh well with your skin, since everyone’s skin requires different elements.
I have combination skin, but so much of the time I deal with dry and flat-looking skin. So I like products that boost the brightness and give me moisture without making my skin oily. I also deal with major blackheads on my nose (this only started to happen as I got older), so I get monthly facials to help with that. I also try to stay away from anything super heavy around my nose and T-zone area.
Lately, I’ve been using mostly natural products and anything that feels light and subtle on my face. I like to give my face a break sometimes and just use super-simple products that don’t have anything crazy over-the-top mixed inside.
Youth to the People has so many amazing products that don’t rip apart your face—I love how simple they all are and how well everything in the skincare line meshes well with sensitive skin. I just started using the mask twice a week, which I love! Oh, and the eye cream, too—that’s new to my repertoire. The face wash and moisturiser I’ve been using for years on and off.
Okay, this one is so important: hands. Your hands will age first if you don’t take care of them. From driving all these years and not wearing sunscreen, I have so many wrinkles that I plan to get laser removal on my hands. About two years ago, I started becoming anal with wearing hand cream. I literally put it on five times a day now, and my hands feel a little better than before.
I normally use Dermalogica Solar Defense Booster for my face every day before I leave my house. I’ve tried a bunch, but this guy has been my go-to the past five months or so. SPF on the face every day is so important!
You guys ask me so many questions about my skincare routine, so I wanted to throw in one of my fave face cleansers that I’ve been going back to and using for the past two years. The brand is Korres, and I love all of the products. Like I said, I switch it up every day depending on what my face feels, but I do use this one a ton, and I keep refilling it. It’s nice and smooth and makes my skin feel glowy after.
What else… Oh, I’ve discovered this new online store that carries organic and natural face products. It’s called The Stell, and I just ordered five things I’m in love with from the website. I got a ton of products by this line it carries called Noto. I have all the face highlighters, which I love (not pictured here), and this Basil Yarrow Mist that says body and hair, but I’ve been using it on my body and face (hopefully that’s okay!). I can’t imagine anything natural being bad for your face.
Nothing to do with beauty, but I’ve been wearing these new Céline hoops I got in Paris day in and day out—I’m pretty sure they’re still available in-store.
