Alexa Chung Has a Brand-New Beauty Gig
L'Oréal Paris has a long list of brand ambassadors that includes celebrities like Eva Longoria, Doutzen Kroes, Blake Lively, Julianne Moore, Karlie Kloss, and Naomi Watts. This is just like other beauty companies, whether drugstore or otherwise, who enlist celebs to promote, inspire, and represent the spirit of the brand. Take Covergirl for instance. This year alone, Covergirl welcomed three new ambassadors—Ayesha Curry, Maye Musk, and Issa Rae, respectively.
But I digress, so let's get back to the topic at hand, which is L'Oréal. Yesterday, the brand's haircare vertical, L'Oréal Professional, took to Instagram to reveal its newest celebrity ambassador, and we must confess that we never saw it coming. Even though this British It girl has long been a beauty icon for us, we had never associated her with the brand. Clearly, that's about to change starting now. Keep scrolling to see which celebrity will be starring in this year's L'Oréal Professional ad campaigns.
The official L'Oréal Professional Instagram account posted this video, captioning it, "We are very happy to introduce you our new muse, the fantastic @alexachung! She is joining our @lorealpro family this year! Stay tuned for more info about her collaboration with the brand." Alexa Chung is a model, host, writer, and fashion designer who hails from the UK. She's known for her effortless and French girl–inspired style.
This isn't even her first big brand collab. Other beauty and style companies like Eyeko, Longchamp, and AG Jeans have included her in advertisements in the past. She's even designed namesake products for them. It does seem to be her first gig that lands in the realm of haircare and styling. We're just surprised it hasn't happened sooner, although we will say L'Oréal was an unexpected choice. Even though we've always associated her with other high-end brand campaigns, we're not complaining, seeing as we love drugstore beauty. Plus, the first advertisement that features Chung looks fantastic.
After reposting this photo to her account, Chung captioned it, "Woop woop! Very happy to be joining the @lorealpro family this year. Presumably because I pretend to be French a lot, I am the muse for their #ParisianNudes collection."
The Parisian Nudes is a part of the new Color Me French collection of multi-tonal hair color that's designed to achieve that effortless and low-maintenance French-girl color. In other words, it's designed to get that shiny and vivid mix of highlights and lowlights we've come to expect from Chung. After all, there's no denying that her signature brown shoulder-length hair looks incredible in the first teaser photo.
So far, the Color Me French collection is only available in salons, so if you're interested, you'll have to find an establishment that offers it. In the meantime, we can always replicate Chung's shine and smoothness with L'Oréal's Sleek It Frizz Vanisher Cream because we like our hair how we like our skin—radiant and light-reflecting.
