How to Juice Your Way to Shinier, Healthier Hair
There are loads of things you can do in the quest for healthier, shinier hair. Caring for your scalp and strands by way of massage and detangling is key, as is using products formulated for your specific hair type. Eating a nutritious diet and limiting alcohol can help, but what about juicing your way to a better mop? Is it even possible? According to holistic nutritionist for Bondi Juice Co Lisa Corbett-Jones, kind of, as long as the vegie pulp stays in: "Smoothies are an excellent way to combine fresh fruits, veg, nuts and seeds in a nutrient-packed, nourishing beverage; in the right quantities, they can be beneficial for promoting cell growth, repair and overall health for both you and your hair."
Obviously the right blend of ingredients is important—we're only after hair-boosters, after all. Intrigued, we grilled Corbett-Jones for her top five ingredients for healthy hair.
Feeling hungry? Before you rush down to your local juice bar, Corbett-Jones says the quality of ingredients is integral to the effect on your hair: "In order to gain optimum nutritional benefits, both cold-pressed and organic or local/seasonal ingredients are key elements to look for in a smoothie—these elements ensure the highest quality and quantity of nutrients are retained during the blending process."
We recommend Bondi hipsters check out The Bondi Juice Co.'s Skinny Me Green smoothie which Corbett-Jones describes as "packed with a ton of nutrients essential for healthy hair and overall wellbeing." We also dig Shoku Iku in Melbourne.
