A Top Model Shares Her Favourite Leg-Toning Workout
If, like most people, you think of a foam roller purely as an adjunct to your exercise routine, it's time to take another look at the trendy piece of gym equipment. According to Vogue.com, Stephen Pasterino, the founder of Bodies by P (the workout NYC models swear by for lean, toned limbs), says it can actually be used as an effective training tool. "I like to use it as a guide to control the range of motion to effectively target small muscles," he told the publication. Pasterino's method is all about sculpting without adding extra bulk, and avoids over-development by targeting hard-to-reach areas like the inner thighs.
Ahead you'll find a Pasterino-approved GIF workout designed to give you legs like a Victoria's Secret model, demonstrated by one of our favourite Kiwis, Georgia Fowler. (Herself no stranger to the VS runway.) All you'll need is some type of foam roller ($15), and perhaps a full-length mirror to help with balance.

"Hold the foam roller overhead with arms locked. Keep a slight bend in the standing leg to allow your butt to work and stabilise. Holding the knee at waist level, open from the knee outward. Move the knee slowly back inward, making sure to squeeze the inner thigh. Perform 8 reps, then switch sides."
"With the foam roller in hands and arms locked out at chest height, reach the right leg straight back balancing on the ball of your foot. Squeeze and engage the right side of your butt. Push through the left heel and squeeze through the left side of your butt to bring your knee forward to a 90-degree angle, making sure that it does not lift above the waist. Squeeze your stomach and lengthen it as the foot reaches back rearward. Perform 8 reps, then switch sides."
"Place the foam roller directly behind you. With your stomach pulled in tight, reach the right leg over the top of the foam roller. Keep the left side of you butt pushed back and the left standing knee in line with the left heel, while using the right side of your butt to slowly raise the right foot and squeeze. Hold for half a second. Slowly lower leg to tap the foam roller. Perform 8 reps, then switch sides."
