The $8 Lipstick the Victoria's Secret Angels Wore Down the Runway in Shanghai
There are a few things we can expect to see every single year—amazing Black Friday deals, award show celebrity beauty, and the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. This year the brand took its famous Angels to walk the runway in Shanghai, China.
Even though the show is in a new location, we're sure to see the same sultry makeup we've loved from previous years (by now, it's kind of Victoria's Secret trademark look). Nevertheless, we still look forward to finding out the exact products that are used on the models. How does that saying go? If it's good enough for the Victoria's Secret runway, then it's good enough for us? That sounds about right.
Luckily for us, we know the exact lipstick shade that the Angels wore down this year's runway. It’s a cream formula with a nude-pink base that all but screams Victoria’s Secret. Keep scrolling to see which product it is.
Victoria's Secret Velvet Matte Cream Lip Stain in Adored ( $14 ) ($8)
Victoria's Secret lead makeup artist Tom Pecheux used the brand's cream lip stain in the shade Adored, which is a rosy beige, as a color primer on each of the models' lips. "Velvet Lip Matte Cream Lip Stain in 'Adored' is the perfect base for lips; simply dab onto the lips to enhance a pink natural lip color," Pecheux said in a press release.
After that shade was applied, he reached for one of two other shades, depending on the model's skin tone—either Velvet Matte Cream Lip Stain in Perfection ($8) or Love ($8). The former is a deeper, brown-toned rose color, and the latter is more of a true pink. He layered either one of these two shades on top of the original Adored shade to create a natural enhancement to each model's lips.
These lip stains are super creamy. Though they aren't as long-lasting as other matte formulas, the color is rich and opaque. Plus, at only $8 each, you can afford to mix and match like the Angels did at the actual show.
As for the rest of the look, the models wore taupe and brown shadow on their eyes with brown liner smudged on the lower lashline. After two coats of mascara and some dewy rose bronzer, the makeup look was completed.
