Missing Summer? Tom Ford’s Latest Sunshine-Inspired Collection Will Help
If you miss summer as much as I do (lots—even more than Cadbury Creme Eggs), you're in for a treat. In just five days, several sunshine-inspired beauty buys will hit counters in the form of Tom Ford's new Soleil Color Collection and fragrance. Geared towards summer in the Northern Hemisphere, the range is made up of radiance-boosting products including a shimmery body oil, lush lipsticks, a glow-giving primer and illuminator, as well as a selection of bronzers. (There's also a fragrance, Soleil Blanc, which is without a doubt one of the most gorgeous fragrances I have smelled this year—more on that below.) Don't be put off by the fact this seasonal collection isn't expressly intended for our Australian autumn. Take my word for it, every last product can be used year-round. In fact, upon receiving advance samples a few weeks ago, I was immediately obsessed and demanded all colleagues within earshot come to my desk to ooh and ahh along with me.

According to the press release, this heady scent is inspired by "remote private islands where summer lasts all year and one day seamlessly blends into the next." (When can we visit?) A perfectly fitting descriptor, one sniff conjures up images of sunshine-soaked flowers, salty air, and coconut lotion on skin.
If you can stand to drag a makeup brush through these gorgeous patterned powders, you'll be rewarded with cheekbones to rival Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's. The colour payoff is sheer enough to use all year-round, and the finish is like satin. Skin is left gleaming but not shimmery.
Tom Ford's Soleil Color Collection and Soleil Blanc EDP will be available at selected David Jones stores and online from May 15. Need a fix now? We'll never quit crushing on the brand's Lips & Boys mini lipsticks ($200 for 4).
