Tigereye Hair Is About to Be Bigger Than Balayage
While recently doing research for our spring hair colour guide, I spoke with a celebrity hairstylist who may have just coined the next big thing: tigereye hair. Get your tweeting fingers ready and keep reading. Corey Tuttle, a Honey Artists hairstylist, explains: "A tigereye is an ancient stone worn for protection and confidence—it's known for its rich browns and golds." The stone is thought to have healing powers, Tuttle says, so it's an incredible colour choice for those who want to begin their next journey with courage, strength, and willpower.
The technique is similar to balayage in that it's super natural-looking and grows out nicely (i.e., you spend less money touching it up). To re-create it, Tuttle says, ask your colorist for "hand-painted caramel highlights paired with a warm, or dark chocolate base."
Bring in a picture of Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Alba, or Khloé Kardashian (from the brunette years) as well as beauties like Miranda Kerr, Kate Beckinsale, or Joan Smalls. What are you waiting for? We're dialing the phone to make an appointment as we speak (err, type).
