Victoria's Secret Models Swear By This $8 Shampoo for Bombshell Waves
To be clear, getting ready to walk the much-anticipated Victoria's Secret runway is quite an involved process: From rehearsals to press appearances to show time, glam squads are at the ready to bring models to bona fide Angel status. All the runway walkers abide by a certain beauty uniform; one that involves airbrushed, impossibly dewy skin and long, flirty lashes. But perhaps the biggest cosmetic trademark of the big event are glossy, bouncy, shampoo-commercial-worthy waves.
We've learned how to get that bombshell hair at home using the same genius technique (and curling iron) that the VS hairstylists adopt backstage. But leave it to the delightfully low-key Taylor Hill to offer up a wallet-friendly alternative for shiny, frizz-free texture that she herself swears by. In an interview with Allure, the model revealed that she uses a drugstore curl shampoo to keep her big curls looking camera-ready at all times. Keep reading to see her $8 pick.
"I have really wavy hair, and it tends to be dry because of that, so I use curl shampoo," Hill says. Right now, she adds, that's Salma Hayek's Nuance Blue Agave Curl Shampoo and Conditioner—a surprisingly wallet-friendly pairing. Sadly, the brand is not yet available in Australia, but we love Palmer's Shea Formula Moisture Repair Curl Shampoo ($15) for an almost-as-cheap alternative.
Stay tuned for more behind-the-scenes coverage of this year's Victoria's Secret fashion show as we head backstage in Paris. And in the meantime, see how Bella Hadid is whipping her body into shape for her VS debut.
