Is Pin-Straight Hair Making a Comeback?

Lindsey Metrus

Just when our flatirons have taken to the bottom of our drawers and started collecting dust, it may be time to dig them back out again. While tousled waves, texture, and the frizz resurgence have reigned supreme in recent years, we've spotted stick-straight strands both on and off the runway of late.

Backstage at the Victoria Beckham S/S 17 show, steam was evaporating off models' long hair extensions while a Ghd Platinum Styler ($315) was passed through until they were pin straight. Then, at Tibi, Aveda guest stylist Frank Rizzieri straightened the models' hair before gathering it in a low ponytail at the nape of the neck. The result? A sleek and polished 'do that's a cinch to create at home.

Straight strands aren't just making a comeback on the runways, though. As Vogue points out, celebs like Bella Hadid and Rihanna have recently traded in waves and curls for super-straight hair, just in time for the change in weather, when humidity won't plague a flatironed mane.
