Beauty editors aren’t exactly known to be brand loyal. In fact, very few can name more than one product they’ve been in a monogynous relationship with for more than a few months. It’s not that we’re fickle by nature. It’s just that by the time we hit the bottom of our must-have jar of night cream, there’s a new one we’re bound to fall in love with waiting for us. (Life’s rough, we know.) We’re telling you all this only to highlight the importance of the products that do make it into our regular rotation—the ones that don’t get replaced by the latest and greatest, our one true (beauty) loves. This February, we’re sharing all of our product love stories. Enjoy!

SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic. Where do I even begin?! As someone with rather sensitive skin, I probably tend to have more product loyalty than some of my fellow beauty editors, but there’s still only one product that came to mind for this series. SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic ($188). Let me tell you, it lives up to the hype. Let's get the obvious out of the way. Yes, it is pricey. But once the skin compliments start flowing in, you won’t miss that well-spent money at all. How and why does it work? In a word: magic. But really, it’s the patented formula (that many have tried to replicate). The blend of vitamin C, E, and ferulic acid is an anti-ageing powerhouse. Alone all three antioxidants are powerful skin-savers, but together, they boost the antioxidant activity of each other. The particular form of vitamin C used in CE Ferulic is the only form that prevents moisture loss in the skin. And it does so while it brightens dark spots and evens texture. The potent combination also boosts the power of your SPF fourfold. Which means it fights off sun damage while correcting existing damage.

A few drops every morning gives me a dewy glow and supple, hydrated skin. On days when I don’t use it (which are a rarity), my skin just doesn’t look the same—it doesn’t have the same brightness or perkiness. I've tried plenty of the copycat serums—and some aren't bad, but I always come back to the real deal.

In the past few years I’ve been using this cult favourite, I’ve noticed a marked improvement in my forehead fine lines and skin tone overall. And I’m fully confident that my serum soulmate will continue to ward off fine lines, dark spots, and all the signs of ageing I write about daily. SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic, you are my one true (beauty) love.
