How Sam Smith Lost 14 Pounds in 14 Days
When a major pop star and global sensation (who sweeped the Grammys, by the way) loses 14 pounds in 14 days, people freak out. Because a) the person looks incredible, and b) everyone wants to know howcanIdothat? Sam Smith has basically broken the Internet with photos of some seriously dramatic weight loss shared on Instagram recently, and can we first of all say: dude looks good.
About two weeks ago, Smith began posting photos of himself which anyone could see revealed a much thinner looking man. On March 17, Smith addressed the weight loss with a photo of himself holding a book by nutritional therapist Amelia Freer, saying she had helped him to lose over 14 pounds in two weeks. The same day, he posed with a copy of a book called Eat. Nourish. Glow: 10 Easy Steps for Losing Weight, Looking Younger & Feeling Healthier by nutritional therapist Amelia Freer, whom Smith said "completely changed his life and relationship with food." After posting about the book, Freer revealed on her own Instagram that it had reached number one on Amazon; and Business Insider reports that her publisher had no plans to sell the book in the United States, but quickly changed that after demand skyrocketed.
At the end of February, Smith had started posting meal snaps and tagging Freer in them. Although he did share one photo of a glass of hot water saying it was his lunch and that "fasting is horrific," most of his other diet photos from the next few weeks reveal delicious and real-food-based meals, such as this salad.
And this shrimp and salad. Despite the kick-off fast, it seems that this diet involves nutritious and delicious meals, and not starving or depriving yourself.
