As beauty editors, we get bombarded with a ton of new products every day (we know—tough life). “Reviewed” is a new series where we report on some of the best products we’ve tried. Whether it’s a drugstore lipstick that lasted all day, or a hand cream that saved us this winter, you’ll find all of our favourites in this column. Enjoy!
?I’m one of those people who hates taking her makeup off at night. Lazy is probably the appropriate word for it. If I could skip the step forever, I would. But ever since I discovered Pond’s Original Fresh Cleansing Towlettes (aka makeup remover wipes) over five years ago, the approach of bedtime doesn’t fill me with dread. I cannot say enough good things about these gentle, effective, skin-improving cloths that I buy in bulk and take with me everywhere. Along with Aquaphor ($5), Diorshow Mascara ($25), Armani Luminous Silk Foundation ($62), and Benefit Hoola Bronzer ($28), the Pond’s Cleansing Towelettes ($5) are one of five products I’ve ever bought that I have never stopped using since the day I discovered them. If they were ever discontinued, I would basically break down.
The towlettes are super soft and smell amazing. They’re textured, which helps get off the insane amounts of black eye makeup I wear (that’s where that Diorshow Mascara comes in), but not abrasive in the slightest. My skin has been through the ringer the last few years, but never once did these wipes aggravate, inflame, or worsen my underlying condition. Instead, every time I use one I notice my skin looks brighter, smoother, and more polished. They contain vitamin E and an antioxidant complex—and while I’m not sure what is actually responsible for the glowing look I get after using one, to me they’re more than just a makeup remover. They truly make your skin look like you just slept 12 hours. They’re an absolute essential part of my daily routine and I would give one to every person in America, Oprah-style, if I could.
