These Pillow Sprays Will Make You Fall Asleep Quicker

If you’re interested in your own wellbeing, falling asleep in a hurry should be top of your list of priorities. Just as important to your health as working out and eating right, quality sleep seems to be the one thing we’re happy to skimp on in favour of say, another ep of Jessica Jones. Studies have shown that sleep deprivation can negatively affect everything from attention and working memory to increased body mass and metabolism regulation, so just about every system in your body. In short, it’s pretty darn important—but that doesn’t change the fact that it can also be hard to manage.

Enter the humble pillow spray. Designed to help you drift off to the land of nod without relying on sleeping pills or other aids (red wine, we’re looking at you), they’re surprisingly effective when used as part of a pre-sleep ritual. Lavender is usually the star ingredient (makes sense—its use in aromatherapy has been shown to improve sleep quality), plus a host of other calming oils. While studies have indicated that lavender may be helpful in inducing sleep, we also think there’s something to the ritual itself; misting your pillow, taking deep breaths, and actively calming your body before bed is bound to help, no?
