When Korea boasts a new beauty trend, we listen. After all, the country of those with luminous skin brought us BB and CC cream, as well as the now-indispensible idea of Essence. What would our skincare regime look like without SKII?

Considering Korea's track record for developing all things trending in the beauty world, we’re predicting the splash mask will be the latest beauty step our weekly routine can’t do without. Considering it does the work of a face mask but without any of the effort, we’re already on board!

Let’s face it: as much as we’d like an excuse to sit back in a fluffy robe with a couple of cucumber slices on our eyes and see results, it is never going to happen. The splash mask, however, is steeped in history. The concept dates back hundreds of years in Korean culture to when women splashed their faces with rice water to help hydrate and nourish the skin. Fast forward a couple of centuries and the ingredients in the water are a little more targeted and ultimately, more effective.

So here's how it works. After cleansing, fill a bowl or the sink with water and add a cap-full of the splash mask liquid to the water. Then, start splashing the water onto your face for about 15 seconds. And that’s it.
