These Natural Products Will Transform Your Body in Time for Spring
As we hit the halfway point on August, it's clear that the end of winter is upon us. Aside from throwing several yay, it's finally warm enough to wear sandals again parties, we're looking ahead to spring with one thing top of mind—body prep. After months of wearing as much clothing as humanly possible, it's fair to say our limbs are pale, dull and dry. Not exactly skirt- or shorts-ready. With this in mind, we're calling out the products required to transform our bodies into soft, smooth, sun-kissed works of art, just in time for the first beach-side barbecue of the season. Even better, we're only naming completely natural products—from gradual tan to sunscreen—so you can rest assured what follows will make you feel (as well as look) mighty fine.
Keep scrolling for the body-perfecting products you need before spring hits.
Frank Body Coconut Coffee Scrub ($19)
Coffee is a popular anti-cellulite ingredient known for it's ability to improve the look of spongy, dimpled thighs. Results are temporary (we'll take it), but regular use really can can make a visual difference. We can't go past Frank Body's cult scrubs for getting legs in spring shape.
100% Pure Coconut Whipped Body Butter ($30)
With skirt season about to commence, it's time to invest in a skin-softening body butter to get limbs looking human again. (Not, you know, reptilian.) A combo of cocoa and avocado butters, plus a delicious coconut scent mean this natural pick is a no-brainer.
The Body Shop Cactus Brush ($20)
We can't tell you dry body brushing will definitely get rid of cellulite but we can tell you Miranda Kerr does it... and that's good enough for us. Either way, the action of stimulating your body with a brush helps to stimulate your circulatory system as well as remove dead skin resulting in a measurable glow.
Ecocare Organic Coconut Oil ($11)
You're likely well versed in the magical properties of coconut oil at this point, but anyone needing a refresher should brush up on the reasons this healthy fat is so good for you. Despite a laundry list of health benefits, we love it best as a tropical-smelling body moisturiser—just the thing for smoothing scaly skin in time for spring.
Eco Tan Winter Skin ($30)
Don't let the name fool you, this gradual tanner isn't just for winter. Great for adding a touch of colour to all skin tones, it dries to a velvety finish and smells just like rose jam. (True story: I love this product so much, I stockpile it like a Doomsday Prepper in case Eco Tan ever decide to stop making it.)
Morihata Binchotan Body Scrub Towel ($27)
Okay, so a towel isn't the most obvious choice for a pre-spring body tune-up but stay with me. This one is made from charcoal-impregnated fibres which work to gently exfoliate and detoxify skin, leaving limbs smooth. Got keratosis pilaris? It can help remedy that too.
Eco Body Sunscreen SPF 30+ ($25)
Natural sunscreens that perform as well as their traditional counterparts are hard to find, but this one is pretty impressive. Hypoallergenic and fragrance-free, it's made with potent antioxidants to nourish skin as well as protect it. Caveat: It's pretty thick to apply. That said, it rubs in easy.
I'm just as partial to perfume as anyone but some studies do link fragrance with hormonal disruption. Not so the natural kind, which is why it's a good idea to find one you like. Parfum 39 is a sunny blend of red berries, Egyptian jasmine and honey absolute—perfect for the increasingly warm weather.
