In Case You Missed It, This Year's Met Gala Beauty Looks Were the Best Yet
It's that time again—the Met Gala celebrity red carpet of 2017 has officially kicked off, and boy, we're excited. Each year, the Metropolitan Museum of Art holds a fundraising gala for its Costume Institute, and spotlights a different theme or designer. This year, the designer is Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garçons. Not only does the Met represent the unofficial best award show of the season (it's not referred to as "fashion's night of nights" for no reason), it also presents a chance for us to scout for out-of-the-box beauty trends. While we still expect to see our fair share of smoky eyes and glossy blowdries, it's a safe bet there'll be a few eye-popping hair and makeup moments, too. (Still not over the bowl cut Zendaya wore last year.) So buckle in, and get ready—we'll be updating the gallery below as the best looks trickle through.

Two words: Rainbow eyes. Makeup artist Nick Barose created this vibrant look using Lancôme's Aquatique Waterproof Eye Color Base to hold the colour in place.
Hadid went for a minimal makeup look (expertly executed by Charlotte Tilbury), presumably to show off her new chop, courtesy of stylist Ward Stegerhoek.
Roberts' coppery eye and creamy rose-tinted lips may be simple, but man, she looks good. (FYI, the lipstick she's wearing is Charlotte Tilbury's Pillow Talk, $49.)
Is it just us or is EmRata channeling some mermaid vibes? The marine winged liner (which we're guessing is Marc Jacobs Beauty Highliner in Whirlpool), the two-texture waves—it's all a bit magic.
