Kim Kardashian West typically isn't shy about even her biggest insecurities—those who follow her on Snapchat know this best, as Kardashian West has been publicly logging her daily weigh-ins over the past several months. And yet, as forthcoming as she is about just about everything, she has also admitted that she goes to great lengths to conceal a certain skin ailment. Kardashian West famously suffers from psoriasis, a genetic skin disorder that causes cell overgrowth, usually resulting in large red, itchy, flaky patches. But now, she says she's finally ready to embrace it.

"After this many years, I've really learned to live with it," she said in a post on her app earlier this week. "I don't even really try to cover it that much anymore. Sometimes I just feel like it's my big flaw and everyone knows about it, so why cover it?"

I know that I can personally relate—since my first big flare-up at eight years old, I've been battling psoriasis ever since. And I also know that I'm not alone; in fact, considering that psoriasis is the most common autoimmune disease in the United States—affecting 7.5 million people—it's kind of nice to have someone with such a massive public platform embrace it, you know?
