Did Kim Kardashian Just Solve Our Boring Autumn Hair Issue?
Kim Kardashian West probably isn't the first person you think of in relation to nailing beauty on a budget, but the style star has just debuted one of the most wallet-friendly hairstyles we've seen in a long time. Hairstylist Chris Appleton whipped up the look, a centre-parted bun accessorised with a makeshift headband crafted from humble bobby pins. The finished look is neat, polished and flyaway-free—just the thing for blustery autumn days and hair boredom.

To DIY, comb in a centre-part, apply a smoothing or soft pomade (like this one from Malin + Goetz, $31) all over, then scrape your hair back into a ponytail. (Don't do the bun bit yet, just in case the next step disturbs your hard work.) Starting from your temples, carefully slide a bobby pin into your hair at centimetre intervals. Take care not to create "bubbles" in your hair as you go. Once done, decide whether you need to slick everything back again. If not, twist your pony around itself and pin in place. Done!
