This Is Not a Drill: Kendall Jenner Just Deleted Her Instagram

Kendall Jenner's biggest fans may have found themselves in for a rude awakening tyesterday when they logged onto Instagram… only to be met with a message that the page no longer exists. That's right: Jenner's account—one of the most followed in the world—has been deleted.

As it has only been a few hours since her prompt exit from social media, no one is quite sure why Jenner decided to give Instagram a break (or whether it might actually be permanent). Still, we can't exactly fault the supermodel for taking a breather from one of her social channels—and neither can many wellness experts, for that matter. After all, in our ridiculously connected world—a world where many of us sleep with our smartphones just inches from our heads—a digital detox is often prescribed as a way to reduce anxiety and reboot the mind and body. 

It was only last week that we learned, via Keeping Up With the Kardashians, that Jenner does, in fact, suffer from anxiety: So much, that it manifests in sleep paralysis, which in turn leads to more sleepless nights. As a fellow sufferer of the condition, I can report that for me, it's always aggravated when I don't take the time to unplug—and while it's all conjecture, that could be some of the reasoning behind Jenner's Insta-exit.

The bottom line is that whatever her reasoning, we could honestly all learn from Jenner's decision to step back, even if we'll miss seeing her in our feeds—because honestly, how many of us are guilty of looking at life through a VSCO filter? Keep scrolling for some quick tips on unplugging.
