The Pre-Workout Breakfast Kate Bosworth Swears By
We're always looking to celebs for inspo on how to be healthy, (much cheaper than booking in to see their costly trainers and nutritionists ourselves), so when they share tips on everything from pre-workout snacks to exercise we not only listen, we often make plans to copy. Enter, Kate Bosworth, who recently talked Allure through her morning routine, revealing herself to be a fan of the double breakfast. (Adding a second breakfast to our daily schedule in the name of wellness? That, we can do.)
This new weight-loss trend is all about revving up your metabolism by noshing on something small after waking, then eating a proper breakfast mid-morning. Bosworth works out in the A.M (the best time of day to work out, according to science), to avoid cramps caused by exercising with a full stomach, which is where her mini breakfast comes in: "I always eat a little before I work out. I read recently that if you do cardio, you should eat a little protein [for breakfast], like a hard-boiled egg or two. And I always have some tea and half of an avocado." Post-workout, it's a different story: "I'm ravenous," says Bosworth. She fuels up on more protein-rich eggs, half of an avocado, fruit and veggies.
If you're wondering which exercise in particular the actress opts for, she likes to keep things simple. "This morning I ran. Well, I walked, jogged, and ran for about 25 minutes and then did ten minutes of strengthening, so 35 minutes total." A firm believer you don't have to spend your life in the gym to see results, we're happy to follow Bosworth's lead on that, too.
