This Energising Acai Bowl Will Help You Survive Hump Day
Eating healthfully for an entire week can feel like a huge task. Things can seem totally do-able at the start of the week, but then a little thing called hump day happens and kicks us off course. There are ways to make it easier (like hacking our breakfasts or snacking smart), but how are we supposed to resist a Starbucks Gingerbread Frappuccino when we're feeling tired and taking the healthy route inevitably gets boring? Our experience tells us that having easy—and delicious—fall-back options can sometimes be the only thing standing between us and a bucket of coffee when we’re in need of energy. Especially on a Wednesday.
Enter: Amazonia’s fuss-free acai bowl. Consisting of ingredients you can mostly keep in the freezer or pantry, it’s great for “I have nothing to eat” and “I am bored of healthy food” moments alike. Eat it as a snack or sub it in for your regular breakfast when you need to keep energy levels high—it contains good fats and protein to keep you fuller for longer, plus a whole host of nutritious superfoods.
According to Amazonia’s founder, Dwayne Martens, one ingredient in this recipe—acai berries—stands out as an bonafide energy-booster in particular: “Acai has been linked to increased blood circulation in the body, boosting stamina and even fighting fatigue and exhaustion,” he says.
