Quick Trick: How to Do Dewy Skin in Real Life

Deven Hopp

Glowy skin will always be in. If you're an overachiever, however, you're not just settling for the glow. You also want the dew. Dewy skin is the new beauty status symbol, if you will. But it's tricky. If you overdo it, you end up looking like you just spent a very sweaty chunk of time enduring a train ride with no air-con in December. The other caveat is that it should be simple. Achieving the look should be as effortless as the look itself. And it can be done in just four quick steps.

Check out the instructions below, and click play on the video above to see how it’s done!

1. Mix a drop of moisturiser into a luminising primer, and apply all over.
2. Next, blush. Blend a bright, poppy cream blush, like RMS Beauty's Lip2Cheek in Beloved ($54), onto the apples of your cheeks.
3. Now, apply a radiant foundation or tinted moisturiser (we're using Laura Mercier's Tinted Moisturizer, $62). Using a domed face brush swirl the foundation in the palm of your hand until it’s warm. This makes it easy to blend. Lightly buff the foundation onto only the areas that need it (usually the center of your face) in circular motions.
4. Top off the high points of your cheekbones with a lightly tinted or clear lip balm. We love Glossier's Balm Dotcom ($36 for set of 3) or Lucas's Papaw Ointment ($6) for this.
