Julianne Hough’s Trainer and More Share Their #1 Fitness Tips
It's safe to say that celebrity personal trainers are in a complete league of their own. Maybe it's just the fact that Hollywood's finest can afford to pay someone to whip them into shape on the regular, but the bodies that these trainers are able to help their famous clients sculpt are mind-boggling. If we had it our way, one of these trainers would be on speed dial to help us daily (and maybe a personal chef could cook us a clean meal on command too), but until we reach celeb status, we'll have to settle for following their tips on our own. To help this process along, we got in touch with some of the top celebrity trainers, responsible for notable attributes like Carrie Underwood's legs and Julianne Hough's abs, to give us their number one fitness tips they want everyone to know.

Celebrity clients: Madonna, Rachel Weisz
“We cannot achieve physical results without the collaborative efforts of our minds and hearts. When you are not honest with what makes you happy, how you feel, or following your dream, your body will react: injury, pain, excess fat, and imbalance. Think of your body as energy: If there is something blocked, the energy can't move through freely.”
Celebrity client: Carrie Underwood
“Taking a break and sitting down should be a rest from your movement, not the other way around! Strive to get your 10,000 steps each day, and you will find yourself active all day and only taking breaks to sit before getting back out to your healthy movement. Find an excuse to grab something in the other room or a couple floors up at the office—you'll find that you're less sleepy, less stiff, and get a whole lot more done!”
Celebrity clients: Ruby Rose, Kelly Rohrbach
“Before jumping into ANY new and/or serious exercise program, seek out a session with a corrective exercise specialist. This doesn’t sound too sexy, but it is! A personal trainer with a corrective exercise background can make the most accurate assessment of your body and where your strengths and weaknesses lie. I walk into gyms every day and see people performing exercises that will only make their injuries and physical compensations—think forward neck and rounded shoulders from sitting at a computer all day—even WORSE because they are doing what everyone else is doing or what looks cool. Figure out exactly what your body needs, and make choices based on those assessments rather than what the next new fad is. Smart training is sexy too!”
Celebrity clients: Serena Williams, Kelly Rowland
“To help you burn off your belly fat, kick the late-night snacking to the curb and stop eating two to three hours before you go to bed. Sip on herbal teas like chamomile, mint, or ginger to curb late-night cravings, and do a mixture of 200 ab crunches before you go to bed. Need more motivation? Then blast your abs with our 10-Day Ab Blast Challenge. I even do it myself to get ready for photo shoots and events. A challenge is a great source of motivation!”
Celebrity clients: Bethenny Frankel, Tina Fey
“I honestly think a Downward Dog a day keeps the doctor away. It’s a full-body move that works everything from the core to the legs to the arms to the brain! You have to focus and use your breath, and you get a stretch and strengthening effect from the move. Anyone can do it—yogis and non-yogis!”
