Bella Hadid Just Debuted a Very Edgy New Haircut
A wise woman once said makeovers provide "a sense of control in a world full of chaos." (Hello, Clueless diehards.) I have to agree. Because even when I'm not the one in charge of someone's makeover, simply beholding the transformation re-instills my faith that free will does exist. Yes, this sounds dramatic, but how else can humankind's obsession with celebrity beauty transformations be explained?
On second thought, let's not dwell on it. Instead, simply scroll below to behold our favourite Hollywood hair makeovers of the year thus far. From Taylor Swift's mind-blowing colour change to Khloé Kardashian's chop, this has been a glorious year for celeb hair.

Baby bangs aren't exactly for the faint of heart, but leave it to Bella Hadid to make the look seem positively effortless during a Dior event. Whether the fringe is clip-on or permanent remains to be seen—but either way, we're into it.

Kristen Stewart has stepped up her beauty game immensely as of late—showing off messy, platinum locks and grungy roots on red carpets around the world. We thought we couldn't love her look any more, that is until she hit up the New York Film Festival with a sleeker, more polished 'do and refreshed, white-blonde roots.

If you ever doubted the longevity of the blonde lob, here's proof that the look is here to stay through fall. Emily Blunt took a front-row seat at the Michael Kors S/S 17 runway show sporting a brand-new sunny blond colour with grown-in roots. Paired with a shoulder-grazing cut, the look is a bit more youthful and relaxed than the longer auburn styles we've been seeing from her over the past year. Looks like she's going to have to stock her hair care arsenal with purple shampoo!

While we're used to seeing her sport long, sultry waves, Vanessa Hudgens recently got a major chop. Celebrity hairstylist Riawna Capri gave the actress a shaggy bob, telling StyleCaster that Hudgens was "ready to switch it up for a bit, since she had some time to play" before her new show, Powerless, debuts.
Kim Kardashian West traded her signature long waves for an equally glossy lob. (The angular cut makes for an ultra- flattering look.)
Ashley Olsen took her dirty-blonde locks to a bright shade of platinum, debuting the new look at the opening of Elizabeth and James's flagship boutique at The Grove in Los Angeles.

The singer stepped out while on tour with a new chop, and we're calling it—this curly style (complete with textured fringe) is bound to be the It cut of the year. (It's so good, no?)

When Kristen Stewart debuted a surprise platinum makeover in April, the internet had a small heart attack. The bright blond colour takes her already grungy-cool aesthetic to another level, and she has been killing it with her beauty looks ever since. Well done, K.Stew. Well done.

Bella Hadid nearly had us fooled when she rocked a set of temporary side bangs on the Cannes red carpet earlier this month. We’re convinced she should make the face-flattering fringe permanent. Check out more of our favourite haircuts with bangs.

Rihanna obviously reigns supreme in the kingdom of hair transformations, but the sleek bob she debuted this February has to be one of our favourites. ICYMI, sleek, minimalistic hair is a major trend this summer.

Speaking of platinum makeovers, we literally started reevaluating our lives when Taylor Swift premiered this icy hue on the May 2016 cover of Vogue. Swift kept her natural toffee blonde for so many years that we never imagined it any other way. The drastic new hue brings her a futuristic edge.

You don't have to go platinum to edge up your look. Hyland went the opposite route by colouring her hair jet-black, and we are obsessed. DIY her look with Garnier's Olia Permanent Hair Colour in Soft Black ($10).

Another of the summer's best blond transformations, J.Law's new white-blond locks are the subject of extreme hair envy. The secret to keeping your blond this bright? I recommend a weekly dose of DryBar's Blonde Ale purple shampoo ($40).

The beauty world freaked when Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner swapped hair colours at Paris Fashion Week in March. We dig Hadid as a chocolate brunette. The hue brings her from California Instagram star to sultry high-fashion model.
