Clinique Moisture Surge Melting Mask Balm ($60)
This silky, solid balm is made from just five ingredients, the bulk of which are nourishing oils (see: apricot, sunflower seed and macadamia). A true multi-tasker; use it to remove makeup, in place of your regular facial oil or as a radiance-boosting mask.
Dior Poison Girl ($165)
Think of this intoxicating new fragrance as spritz-on confidence. A cocktail of Sicilian bitter orange, rose, vanilla and tonka bean, it's sweet and sultry (in the way that so many gourmand fragrances are), but not saccharine. Dior face Camille Rowe describes it best as "flirty and fun".
This product launches on February 29th.
Maybelline ColorBlur Cream Matte Pencil and Smudger in Fast & Fuchsia ($18)
These creamy lipstick pencils are genius. Not only are they cleverly designed to help you easily replicate the blurred lipstick look that's been trending since spring (courtesy of an angled blender on the end of the pen), they kick goals as regular old matte lip colours for everyday.
Moroccanoil Dry Shampoo in Light Tones and Dark Tones ($40)
If you're obsessed with the scent of Moroccanoil's entire range (think orange blossom meets vanilla), you'll be pleased to know the brand has just added two new dry shampoos to its lineup. The Light Tones variant features subtle violet undertones that help to fight brassiness, while Dark Tones is formulated with tinted rice starches that break down and disappear on application.
This product is available 29th February.
SK-II Facial Treatment Oil ($185)
SK-II has taken its star anti-ageing ingredient Pitera and combined it with six healing oils (including jojoba, avocado and olive) to create this glow-boosting elixir. Targeting moisture and radiance, it wears surprisingly well underneath makeup—no oily skin here. It also features a soft lavender fragrance which makes application a soothing pre-bed ritual.
Lush Life's A Beach Body Scrub Powder ($20)
The packaging is super-cute (it almost looks like a box of retro washing powder), but what's inside is just as impressive. Made mostly from salt and sand, once mixed with water it transforms into a skin-smoothing scrub that smells like white flowers and vanilla.
Nars Velvet Matte Skin Tint ($64)
Billed as the complexion product that will help you achieve "the new matte" this tinted moisturiser ain't lying. It delivers a soft, satin finish that's both velvety and luminous, and stays put even without powder. It blends easily, is oil-free, contains sunscreen and softens the look of fine lines and large pores. How? Science. (And magic, probably.)
Make Big Dust ($22)
Great for newbies to volumising dusts, this one adds subtle (not strong) texture. For best results, sprinkle onto fingers before working into your lengths, then slowly build up until you're happy with the level of tousle. It's also great for boosting limp hair that's "fallen" through the day, simply dust over roots for an instant refresh.
Radical Skincare Perfection Fluid ($110)
A 2-in-1 serum that tackles wrinkles and dullness, this guy is more like a light lotion than a traditional serum. Formulated with a cocktail of hydrating ingredients designed to penetrate deep into the skin, it promises to plump up your complexion within 60 minutes. It also contains light diffusing and brightening ingredients for a reduction in dark spots.
Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh Blush ($99)
Like champagne topped with pink grapefruit, this sparkly scent is the perfect way to keep summer alive. A blend of freesia and rose keeps things soft, while apricot nectar lends a sweet 'n' sour tang. A hint of sultry musk means it won't be out of place come autumn.
This product launches on February 28th.
OPI Nail Lacquer in She's A Bad Muff-Uletta ($20)
Part of OPI's New Orleans collection, this punchy red polish is named in homage to a popular sandwich among Italian immigrants in its namesake city. (Apt, because when painted on fingers it makes anything you hold—even a deli roll—look extra enticing.)
L'Occitane Melting Honey Soft Shower Gel ($28)
Honey-lovers, listen up: This delicious shower gel is right up your alley. It's lightweight but doesn't strip skin like some non-creamy formulas can (probably because it's made with shea extract), and leaves limbs smelling like toffee cookies.
Kiehl's Ultra Facial Deep Moisture Balm ($38)
Just like Girl Scouts, we're always prepared. Which is why, next on our list is another facial balm. (We see you, autumn winds.) This one is perfect for dry to very dry skin, and is made with the extract of one of the most resilient plants on the plant, edelweiss. Tested against extreme conditions (by consumers who live in Colorado Springs, known for its dry, arid climate), it was shown to help boost hydration and improve the skin barrier both immediately and over time.
Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Rose ($85)
The glittery bottle is a pretty good indicator of the juice contained inside: expect a scent that's light-hearted, fun and vivacious. The perfume opens with fresh Italian mandarin and pear, then morphs into something sweeter and creamier thanks to white flowers and vanilla-like benzoin.
This product launches on February 28th.
L'Oreal Paris Nude Magique Cushion Foundation ($30)
Luxury brands were the first to jump on the Korean trend of cushion foundations (Lancome's Miracle Cushion is major, $60), but mainstream brands are fast catching up. Enter: L'Oreal Paris. Responsible for some of our favourite supermarket foundations, its cushion offering is top-notch. Expect a fluid-like formula that builds and blends easily.
Original Mineral C Paste ($32)
If you followed Lara Worthington's lead and got yourself a pixie, you might be wondering, where are the short hair styling products for girls? We hear you. And so does Original Mineral. Its latest hair paste, made from a base of coconut oil, is perfect for adding light hold and shine without turning you into your dad. Huge bonus: It smells inexplicably (and amazingly) like tanning oil.
Chanel La Solution 10 De Chanel ($132)
A super-exciting launch from one of our favourite houses of fashion and beauty, this cream is made from just 10 ingredients (including a rare, hand-gathered silver needle tea) for optimal skin tolerance. Created for sensitive types, it's the result of 20 years of research and has been proven to soothe, de-stress and defend the skin against environmental damage.
This product launches on February 28th.
Rimmel London Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liner in Call Me Crazy ($13)
Want pouty lips like Rosie Huntington-Whiteley? This contouring pencil can help. The slant-tip makes it easy to ever-so-slightly overdraw the outline of your mouth for a fuller effect. Bonus: It's creamy enough to wear as is, so you can leave your lipstick at home.
Clarins Mission Perfection Serum ($90)
If fading pigmentation were the premise behind Mission Impossible, this serum would be Tom Cruise (aka the guy who makes the impossible, possible). The silky formula contains acerola extract (a type of cherry native to South America), which blocks the creation of dark marks. It also features gentle fruit acids which help to fade pigmentation and smooth out skin texture.
This product launches on February 29th.
Too Faced Mr Right Perfect Powder Brush ($53)
Confession: Even if this brush was a dud (which it's not), we would love it for the cutesy name and packaging alone. Happily, it's actually made from super-soft synthetic hair and works wet or dry to with everything from powder foundation to bronzer.
Napoleon Perdis Wand-er Brow ($29)
The clever ink-like formula deposits colour both on the hair and skin, taking care of any sparse areas while still looking natural. Plus, the super-skinny brush gives good control, so you can be sure you won't end up more Bert than Cara D.
Elizabeth Arden Skin Illuminating Retexturizing Pads ($80)
These exfoliant-soaked pads are perfect for anyone wanting to gently whisk away the surface gunk that stands in the way of a truly glowy complexion. (If manual scrubs are basic, these are next-level.) Infused with a blend of essential oil, glycolic acid and amino acids, swipe one across your skin twice a week for best results.
Hourglass is known for its incredibly fine finishing powders (of which we own several), but its leap into the strobing category has us falling in love with the brand all over again. The new Strobe Lighting Powders deliver a non-glittery, and deceptively natural glow. How? They're formulated with teensy light-reflecting particles in a sheer base, which means they don't give skin a metallic sheen. The accompanying tool, the Ambient Strobe Light Sculptor ($32), is just as genius. It's a uniquely shaped sponge with two application surfaces, one precisely angled to fit cheekbones, and the other flat for easy blending.
Smashbox Lashes Without Limits X-Rated ($32)
Think of this little black tube as your new go-to for falsie-like volume. The brush features three rows of bristles, which isolate and coat every last last lash. The formula contains "tripod fibres", which wrap around the individual hairs for crazy amounts of volume.
Zoeva Spectrum Palettes in Warm (left) and Cool (right) ($54)
Ask us to name a brand that produces top quality products for budget prices and Zoeva is top of the list. In addition to its insanely soft makeup brushes, Zoeva does a roaring trade in eyeshadow palettes. These two newbies are directed towards people with cool- or warm-toned skin, making it easy to choose colours to suit you. We can't decide which we like best.
Bobbi Brown Extra Lip Tint ($52)
Infused with skincare ingredients like vitamins C and E, babassu palm seed oil and olive oil, this tinted balm is really a treatment in disguise. Of course, it also delivers a subtle stain that enhances your natural lip colour, but the real selling point is its ability to transform a chapped pout.
