How to Lose Your Christmas Pudding Belly, Fast
If you're no closer to a cut core now than you were before the holidays, you're not alone. Regardless of your feelings about Christmas pudding (mine = into it), sculpting rock hard abs is notoriously tough. Yes, nutrition is key, and so is exercise. Sleep also matters more in the quest for a six pack than you might think. (Fact: Skimping on beauty sleep kicks stress hormone cortisol into overdrive, resulting in higher levels of belly fat.) So what to do when a weekend at the beach is calling, and you'd like to maximise your confidence in a bikini?
While short-term de-bloating plans like this one can temporarily give you a tighter tummy, we all know it's not possible to properly tone your abs to Gigi-esque proportions in a single day. That said, if you're serious about sculpting a core that'd make Kayla Itsines proud, there are a few little-known exercises that can help to banish your belly pooch more quickly. Each of the moves that follow have successfully made a difference in the look of my mid-section when done every other day for a week. The best bit? You can also do them at home.

Side Kick Throughs
The first time I saw this exercise I laughed hysterically—I thought my PT was punking me with some sort of quasi breakdance move. Then, I tried it. I couldn't laugh again for a week without hurting. Top tip: If it feels easy, brace your abs and lower your hips, then try again.
Side Planks With Oblique Crunches
If you're an old hand at planking, give these a go. The combo of side plank and crunch zaps you right in the obliques for a sculpted waist. Too easy? Keep watching for an advanced variation.
Surprised? This weighted exercise activates most muscles in the body, giving you maximum bang for your buck. After three sets I can consistently feel my core burning, but its backside- and hamstring-toning powers are just as appreciated.
