How to Work Out in Just 7 Minutes, According to Science
Is it possible to get a full-body workout in only 7 minutes? According to a study performed back in 2012 by Chris Jordan, Director of Exercise Physiology at the Human Performance Institute Division of Wellness & Prevention it is. Jordan believed in his scientific findings so much that he created a 7-minute circuit training workout consisting of 12 exercises requiring no traditional equipment. Naturally, something this convenient became wildly popular.
To be honest, we’re big fans of taking a barre, yoga, or pilates class, but busy schedules don’t always allow an entire hour (or more) of dedication. With the assumption that a few minutes of excercise is better than nothing, and at the suggestion of a private Venice Beach yoga instructor who admitted to following the program on mornings when she feels pressed for time, we took a look at the 7-minute tutorial online. While we aren’t ready to throw in the towel on all other forms of fitness, we do think this method could do wonders when travelling or pinched for time. And hey, you can always repeat the 7-minute routine as the study suggests. Right?
